Iris pseudacorus (Yellow flag)

Yellow flag (Iris pseudacorus) is a vigorous British native perennial with yellow flowers May/June.  Excellent for pond margins of large ponds or lakes but fine for smaller ponds in baskets. Propagate by division in Spring or Autumn or by seed collected from the seed pods in Autumn. Good for bees and hoverflies looking for nectar. The tall leaves are valuable for dragonfly larvae climbing out of the water to pupate.
