Product DescriptionThis two strand turquoise Magnesite necklace is a burst of turquoise added to your jewelry collection. The stones are Magnesite (naturally white) which have been dyed to the fresh, bright turquoise of a desert sky. The findings are sterling silver plated over brass (links) or steel (the clasp).Magnesite is a sedimentary stone, just like Turquoise. Instead of the copper and aluminum that give Turquoise it’s signature color, Magnesite is formed in magnesium-rich environments resulting in shades of cream and beige. It’s a little bit softer than Turquoise which makes it ideal for carving, and it can be dyed beautifully. In this case, it is a beautiful turquoise.Our turquoise Magnesite necklace measures approximately 20 inches along the top (shorter) strand. The longer strand measures just over 22 inches so there is a nice difference in drop between the two. For more length/drape, there are matching necklace extenders available here.
