Product DescriptionThis double strand necklace is a cool river of stone and silver. The stones are black river rock (basalt) tumbled into smooth rectangles. Basalt river rock is a fine-grained igneous stone formed from the rapid cooling of low viscosity (slow, thick) lava rich in magnesium and iron. It has no crystaline structure, but instead embodies the formative strength of the Earth.Our black river rock necklace measures approximately 22 inches along the top (shorter) strand. The longer strand measures just over 26 inches so there is a nice difference in drop between the two. For more length/drape, there are matching necklace extenders available here. The findings are sterling silver plated over brass (links) or steel (the clasp).
