Five Senses Phonics Book 6

Description Five Senses Phonics is a carefully structured series of activity books for pre-readers and beginning readers at the important stage of their literacy acquisition. These activity books are intended for use in a preschool setting, in the beginning school years, and for older students who are having difficulty learning to read. Book 6 focuses on: – Diphthongs – Vowels before ‘r’ – Irregular word patterns – Silent letters In Book 6 students expand their knowledge of new sounds and phonic generalisations – digraphs, diphthongs, vowels before ‘r’ and silent letters. The activity pages consolidate the acquisition of new sounds as they are sequentially introduced. An expanded list of basic sight vocabulary words is introduced in which students are expected to demonstrate mastery. Book 6 completes the process of enabling students to attain competency in basic phonics skills. On completing Book 6 are prepared for the process of acquiring the independent reading skills of syllabification (dividing words into syllables) and structural analysis (recognising prefixes, base word and suffixes).
